Saber 40 Long-Range UHF RFID Tag for Metal and Non-Metal Assets
55 x 18 x 5 mm ABS and PET UHF RFID tag for indoor metal and non-metal assets. The current product record lists up to 10 m reference read range with adhesive, hanging or tie mounting; validate both substrate and installed read zone.
One long-range UHF RFID tag for metal and non-metal asset programs
Saber 40 is a long-range UHF RFID tag for indoor asset programs that include both metal and non-metal surfaces. Its 55 x 18 x 5 mm ABS and PET construction supports adhesive, hanging or tie mounting on equipment, IT assets, fixtures and returnable items.
The printable PET surface can support project-specific visible identification. Confirm the artwork, encoding, frequency and mounting configuration before production.
Compare the 10 m reference, then validate each substrate and orientation
The current Crepak product record lists up to 10 m and positions Saber 40 for both metal and non-metal assets. This is a product-selection reference rather than a guaranteed installed distance.
Metal and non-metal surfaces can produce different read zones. Reader output, antenna gain and polarization, tag orientation, asset geometry, mounting material and the RF environment also affect the result. Test representative samples on every required substrate before production release.
Saber 40 specifications
Mechanical and RF values above are based on the current Crepak product record. Request the current production specification when temperature, ingress, compliance, lifecycle or formal test evidence is part of the acceptance criteria. No unsupported certification or environmental claim is made on this page.
Match the mounting method to the asset and identification workflow
Saber 40 supports adhesive, hanging and tie mounting. The correct method depends on the substrate, available mounting point, need for removability, production workflow and mechanical load.
- Validate adhesive bonding separately on each metal or non-metal surface.
- Keep tag orientation consistent when using hanging or tie mounting.
- Confirm the tag cannot swing into a blocked or unstable read position.
- Re-test the read zone after artwork and final mounting materials are applied.
Choose Saber 40 when one asset program includes mixed substrates and flexible attachment
Saber 40 is best suited to indoor assets that need printable identification and adhesive, hanging or tie mounting across metal and non-metal surfaces. It is not the preferred choice for very small mounting spaces, embedded installation, sustained high temperature, severe impact or persistent outdoor moisture without separate validation.
- Compare dedicated metal-mount options in the On-Metal RFID Tags directory.
- For sustained elevated temperatures, evaluate High-Temperature RFID Tags.
- For severe impact, outdoor exposure or persistent moisture, compare Rugged RFID Tags.
- Confirm every required substrate, artwork and mounting method before ordering samples.
Industrial applications for Saber 40
Application validation
Validate Saber 40 on every required substrate before volume deployment
Evaluate representative samples on the intended metal and non-metal assets with the final mounting process, reader, antenna and operating environment. Include normal and worst-case tag orientations, then document the accepted read zone for each asset type.
The product-page RFQ below collects the core application inputs required for engineering review, sample planning and commercial quotation.
Selection questions
Saber 40 selection FAQ
Is the 10 m read range guaranteed?
No. Up to 10 m is the current product-selection reference. Confirm the required distance on each real asset with the intended reader, antenna, mounting and orientation.
Will Saber 40 perform identically on metal and non-metal?
Not necessarily. Substrate material and geometry affect the read zone, so metal and non-metal assets should be validated separately.
Can the visible surface be customized?
The current product record positions the PET surface for printable characters and barcodes. Confirm artwork, print process and durability requirements in the quotation.
What should be included in an RFQ?
Provide every asset material, available mounting area, required read distance, reader setup, frequency region, artwork, mounting preference and expected quantity.
