INDUSTRIAL RFID APPLICATIONS

Industrial RFID Applications

RFID tags and smart hardware for system integrators, vertical software providers and RFID distributors. Match standard products to asset identification, tool control, textile circulation or hot ladle identification, then define installation, integration and pilot requirements.

FIND YOUR APPLICATION

Four applications. Different operating requirements.

Choose the task that matches your customer’s project. Each application connects the operating challenge with relevant hardware, integration requirements and evidence to review before a pilot.

ASSETS & RTIs

RFID for Industrial Assets, RTIs & Batch Transfer

Identify reusable containers and industrial assets, then verify groups during receiving, shipping and handover.

Key requirement
Reliable installed identification and batch verification, with missed items and unintended reads measured separately.

Hardware approach
Industrial RFID tags with registration or batch identification hardware, matched to the asset and transfer process.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT

RFID Tool & Equipment Control

Identify shared tools and equipment, verify kits, and capture issue and return events for your customer’s software.

Key requirement
Reading small metal items in their installed positions, checking kit completeness and associating handovers with the correct user.

Hardware approach
Suitable on-metal or embedded tags with verification workstations or controlled lockers, selected for the actual tool and storage arrangement.

TEXTILE CIRCULATION

RFID Textile Identification & Circulation Control

Establish item identity and capture circulation events for linen, uniforms and reusable textiles.

Key requirement
Tag durability through the agreed processing cycle, representative batch reading and a defined data handoff to the customer’s software.

Hardware approach
Textile RFID tags with Tars W500 registration workstations, B900 batch identification stations or L100 issue and return lockers.

STEELWORKS & HOT LADLES

Steel Ladle Tracking & Identification

Identify steel and hot-metal ladles while hot, and pass identity data to the plant’s automation or ladle-management system.

Key requirement
Hot-state reading and selecting the intended ladle at a defined read point, with the mounting temperature and system budget established before evaluation.

Hardware approach
Uru 40 SAW tags, matched Crepak SAW readers and high-temperature antennas. This uses a dedicated protocol, separate from standard RAIN RFID.

FROM REQUIREMENT TO HARDWARE

Define what a successful read must achieve.

Use standard products as the starting point. Confirm the installed read conditions, software responsibilities and acceptance criteria before committing to a rollout.

01

Define the asset and event

Confirm material, mounting space, operating conditions and the required task: identify an item, verify a batch or capture an issue, return or transfer.

02

Select the standard hardware

Compare tag formats and reading devices against the actual installation. Confirm protocol compatibility and regional configuration; Crepak SAW requires matched SAW hardware.

03

Agree the software handoff

Confirm the selected device’s available interface, data fields, configuration tools and documentation. Assign ownership of business rules, record matching and exception handling.

04

Validate and plan repeat supply

Test representative assets and the complete operating cycle. Record correct, missed and unintended reads, then agree the configuration, quantities, delivery schedule and support scope.

CUSTOMIZATION & OEM SUPPORT

When the standard product needs adaptation.

Some projects require a different tag geometry, mounting method, marking, enclosure or device configuration. Define the change against a standard product first. Agree engineering charges, validation responsibilities and production requirements before development. Build-to-print OEM manufacturing can be reviewed against customer-controlled drawings and specifications.

PREPARE YOUR PILOT & QUOTATION

Bring the conditions that determine performance and supply.

Share what you know now. These inputs help us narrow the standard product options, identify integration questions and prepare the evaluation and rollout quotation.

  • Your role in the project and the customer’s operating task
  • Asset photographs, dimensions, material and mounting conditions
  • Read distance, movement, nearby assets and batch size
  • Existing tags or readers, host software and required interface
  • Evaluation quantity, expected rollout quantity and acceptance criteria
  • Delivery country, target date and customization requirements
HARDWARE SELECTION & SUPPLY

Find the right RFID hardware for your customer’s project.

Send the application, installation conditions and expected quantities. Request a standard product recommendation, relevant technical documentation and a quotation. If adaptation is needed, we will clarify the engineering and validation scope.
